Streckhof with schnapps distillery

Weingraben

The existing Streckhof of the family should be extended by a residential house. The building sits carefully between the intact structure of the neighboring barns and uses the same materials: wood and brick. The two gable walls are plastered with 50 cm burned hollow bricks with undyed lime cement plaster outside and clay lime plaster inside. The entire upper floor and attic, as well as the folding shutters are made of domestic silver fir. The floor on the ground floor was created using the old technique of clay-casein coating. Handmade tiles and insulating materials made from renewable raw materials complete the material concept, which is based on natural building materials. The generously openable, recessed folding sliding glazing on both sides of the entire living area can be opened to the garden. This not only gives the pleasant feeling of sitting almost outdoors, but also provides great natural ventilation in the warm summer months.

Streckhof Schneider in Weingraben

In the existing barn next to the residential building, the owner's distillery was installed as a restrained, dark-colored spruce box. Here, the own fruit yield is distilled into exquisite treasures. At a 7 m long wooden table it is easily possible to taste, degust and celebrate.
